Psalm 62:8 - Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. "Selah"
These past few days have been trying, let me tell you. The absurdity alone would either make you laugh or cry. Grocery shopping without a wallet. A self-imposed, writing deadline that ended in an exercise in painful self acceptance. Mini roller coaster rides on the Teen Testosterone Express. A lesson on not owning the feelings of others I didn't quite get in Marriage 101. (Thank You, God for the aha! moment on that one - smile) Selah. Selah? Yes, Selah!
Selah simply gives us a moment to "pause and calmly think about that." Much like a balance, Selah weighs in the value of God's word to the crazy, haphazard, nutsy, klutzy, hurly-burly of life. Selah gives me the much-needed perspective I need to clear my head. My grocery excursion could have taken me to the boiling point, but "Selah!" God had given me peace beyond my comprehension. The writing deadline? Selah. I needed to study to show myself approved and, honey, I was no where near ready to tackle the assignment God had NOT given His stamp of approval (a double OUCH and some time asking for forgiveness on that one).
Have you had a telling, few days? Remember, there is no condemnation and you can always, always take a moment to "Selah."
