Dear God, You would think Labor Day affords us the opportunity to relax, rest and release. We try, but to no avail. Relax and rest turns to cooking, baking and barbecuing. And the only release (or relief, for that matter) is found after the picnics, partying and clean-ups are over. Help us to take a minute to reflect on You as the Maker of heaven and earth, to rejuvenate our relationships with the lover of our souls and to receive the joy of our salvation. We need You, there's no doubt about that, but help us to want You in our rest this day. Help us to want Your peace that goes beyond our comprehension. Help us to take the moments to appreciate the beauty of Your holiness long before our minutes are taken away by the busyness in our Labor Day. You alone provide rest for the weary, hope for the hopeless and peace in the chaos. Therefore, remind us of the reason You are there...You are "there for" us. Pour on the rest for the labor of Your people. In this we pray -- AMEN.
Make today the day you will rejoice and be glad in it. Happy Labor Day, my sisters and friends!

All I can say to your prayer is Praise the LORD!
Doris,
I found you via my sweet sister-friend Mel (Godly Gals) and I enjoyed the message you shared there! Looking forward to getting to know you better in the Lord.
Blessings and peace!
